@pcworld88; If you turn on your computer with no memory modules in it, it will just beep at you and won’t boot up. This is part of the process of reseating the memory modules; you take them out, clean them, wouldn’t hurt to clean the inside of your computer while you’re at it. Turn the computer on, it will beep and will not boot up, then turn it off, put the modules back in and turn it back on. You have just reseated your memory modules.

Come on you don’t actually need a ground do you? I thought all static is discharged through the AC ground cable.

@chicoman5384 your ram wipes itself every time you turn off your computer. for example, it only saves things like word ducments that havn’t been saved yet. All your files will be saved on your hard disc.

My desktop has 2gb of ram BUT i got a 16gb flash drive and made my desktop use that as ram. SO NOW I HAVE 16gb OF RAM FOR 10x LESS MONEY IT WOULD BE TO BUY 14gb OF RAM CARDS! 😀

@pspmed yes and I said I was wrong with one thing there but the ESD cable is still one of the very important tools you’ll need if you’re going to build a computer, without it you’ll have a high chance of shocking your computer with static electricity, it changes the “electricity” in your body to the same level as the case which the motherboard is connected to so you won’t gick the component an static electric shock which can wipe out the entire computer, you needed it before and you need it now.
