    i’ve got a differently-specced 8200.
    still using it till today – in fact this comment is being typed on it.
    nov 2001, 1.8ghz p4, wd800, 256MB RDRAM, ATI Rage 128 PRO.
    Everything in it is stock, never been replaced. including that 250W hunk of a power supply.

    If its a Dimension 8200 you could have bought a P4 with the wrong FSB (533Mhz instead of 400Mhz) causing it to run slower.

    check their website, I got one of these for free and downloaded all the drivers from there after a fresh install

    when you have over-clocked your Pentium4 and your PC works faster when you use it, that’s all you need to know.

    why bother with what its system info shows?

    I have a Dell Dimension 8250, and it still runs great =)
    Specs:
    CPU: Pentium 4 @ 2.4GHz

    RAM: 512 MB of RDRAM

    Hard Drive 250 GB Western Digital Caviar

    Graphics Card: XFX Geforce 6200 256 MB DDR2
    it’s about 8 years old now, and it CAN run Crysis and Far Cry 2 at 20 FPS =)

    when you start your PC, you may want to get into its BIOS and check out the CPU clock speed.

    cpu-z i not always right i hav pentium 4 and it is over clocked to 3.0 ghz and cpu-z says its 2.5 ghz wrong

    this is pissin me off, i upgraded to a p4 a 2.4 ghz but the computer says that it is 1.79 ghz (according to cpu-z) any ideas?
